Cambridge - 15 May 2025

Race 1 @ 5.14pm - #1 Ragnar Lothbrok, #4 Beta Prepare & #5 Red Rackham
We have a strong hand to open the night and I fancy the chances of all three runners.

Ragnar Lothbrok comes in off the back of a good win at Manawatu. From the draw he won't have to do much extra. He looks a handy chance.

You can't take anything away from Beta Prepare. Given it was a dead heat last start he gets to race in the same grade. He'd have to be a leading contender.

I was happy with the way Red Rackham hit the line last week. Being a six race winner he looks well placed. A definite smoky.

Race 2 @ 5.41pm - #8 Keep It Klassy
She's coming in fresh so will benefit from the run. The wide barrier makes it tough but I'm sure she'll be finding the line.

Race 6 @ 7.32pm - #8 Rough And Ready, #9 The Surfer & #10 Little Spike
Another race with three nice hopes in the Northern Region Pacers final.

Rough And Ready is generally a good beginner and has the key advantage of starting 15 metres ahead of his main rivals. As we know, he's not one to die wondering so keep him safe.

Our second runner The Surfer continues to race super. 30 metres is still a big handicap over 2700 however, if he gets himself into the race I expect him to be right amongst it.

Little Spike's closing sectionals last start told a good story. Again, he starts off the back tape so we'll be looking for a drag into it. With his customary sprint he'll be hitting the line hard.

Race 7 @ 7.57pm - #3 Skys Legacy
We wrap up the night with Skys Legacy who was very good at Manawatu. From the draw he should land handy. I'd like to think he's a top three player.

Auckland - 16 May 2025

Race 6 @ 8.25pm - #2 Joes Rock
She closed hard a fortnight ago. While she hasn't had a stand for sometime, I'm not expecting this to phase her. The favourite looks hard to contain, but you can't leave her out of quinella/trifecta combinations.
